Mixing wet and dry dog food: an ongoing portion guide
Yes, a healthy adult dog can have suitable wet and dry food as an ongoing combination unless your vet has advised otherwise. Check that each food fits the dog and the plan, then reduce both portions. Do not serve the full daily amount from each packet. Mixing is optional, not a nutritional upgrade or a treatment by itself.
Check both packets before filling the bowl

PDSA's guide to dog-diet formats uses this fraction-of-each-ration method for a chosen half-and-half mix. Half and half is only an example. It is not the best or required ratio for every dog.

The useful rule is the calculation, not the example amounts: multiply each food's own daily guide by the fraction you plan to feed. The fractions should add up to one whole daily ration. If the instructions conflict or do not cover mixed feeding, ask the manufacturer or your vet rather than inventing a conversion.

Same bowl or separate meals?
